Here is the first main practice of Gnosis: self-observation, which means to observe one's Self from moment-to-moment. However, it is not as simple as merely observing in a superficial way; one needs to remember oneself while in this practice. As Master Samael Aun Weor states: Even though it seems incredible, when Gnostic aspirants are observing themselves they do not remember their Self. It seems inconceivable that when Gnostic aspirants self-observe their mannerisms when they laugh, speak, walk, etc., they forget their Self; this is incredible, but true. Thus, it is crucial to aspire to understand what true self-remembrance is in experience; it is not enough to intellectually study or think about it. We have to strive to comprehend what it is in direct experience. Imagine a man who lives his life with his consciousness totally asleep, always miserably doing what the world and others have told him to do, never thinking for a moment about the meaning of life or what his purpose is... and finally, when he gets to old age, he crosses a road and a truck almost kills him. This terribly asleep man experiences a profound existential shock, a fear that wakes him up out of his miserable slumber; such a shock inevitably makes him question his existence. In that instance, he remembers himself - and in this state of conscious vigilance, he realizes the mistakes he had made in his life and better understands how to live more consciously. It is a sad reality that most people do not live in this type of vigilant, cognizant, self-remembering state from moment-to-moment. If we did, we would surely understand how to fulfill our divine purpose in this life without making so many mistakes. In this class, we discuss self-observation and self-remembering and how to combine them by practicing the Key of SOL. Self-observation and inner remembering of one’s Self starts the development of the spatial sense, which reaches its total maturity with the awakening of the consciousness. Any truly awakened person can see, hear, smell, really touch and feel all things from the superior worlds. Whosoever wants to experience the reality of everything that happens in the superior dimensions of space must awaken the consciousness here and now. - Samael Aun Weor 📥 Class Resources & Downloads
